Reacties van de week: overdonderende ervaringen
Soms kan een restaurantervaring je volledig onverwacht overdonderen. Dat overkwam ‘Houdini’ bij In De Keuken van Floris. Hij schrijft: “Ben onlangs met vijf vrienden op een vrijdagavond volkomen maar dan ook geheel overdonderend volledig in de watten gelegd door Floris, Daan, Mark en collegae. Wat een schitterende combi's van wijn en spijs, perfecte uitleg, geen hoogdravend gezwets, menselijke maat. Om half twee 's nachts stonden we buiten, na vijfenhalf uur genieten. De vijf vrienden willen - net als ik - een tattoo laten zetten met een afbeelding van de kachel in het midden. Hebben we die herinnering altijd bij ons.”
‘Ellen70’at bij HanTing in Den Haag ter gelegenheid van haar verjaardag. “De supervriendelijke bediening heeft ons echt een feestavond bezorgd. Stuk voor stuk zaten we ons af te vragen of we ooit zo lekker gegeten hadden...en konden het zo snel niet bedenken. Echt een genot!”
Overdonderen kan ook een iets minder positieve lading hebben. Marieantoinette maakte een kleine opmerking over de opbouw van het menu bij Beluga in Maastricht en werd vervolgens uitgenodigd in de keuken. “Leuk, dacht ik nog, maar aldaar kwam ik tegenover een chefkok te staan die me op het matje en ter verantwoording riep. Ik begreep zijn kookkunst niet. Mijn eetlust was verdwenen en de avond verpest.”
Verder werd er deze week verheugd gereageerd op de opening van Le Pain Quotidien in Amsterdam. Suzie schrijft: “Kan niet wachten totdat ik weer naar Amsterdam mag, en EINDELIJK een Nederlands filiaal van Le Pain mag bezoeken. Ontdekt in New York, waar ik na één bezoekje de rest van de week vaste ontbijtgast was. Probeer de choco-pasta's! Geweldig, en allemaal verschillend. Fijn fijn, nu in NL. Graag ook nog een in Utrecht...” En Ellen Mirjam heeft hetzelfde verzoekje voor haar woonplaats Den Haag: “Ben al jaren fan, sinds we een ontbijtje in Antwerpen hebben gedaan.”
Winky reageert op nieuwkomer BarItalia: “Bar slecht inderdaad! Niets ten nadele van de dame die ons een fles wijn aanbood voor alle ongemakken, maar de eerste indruk is verre van goed.” Jammer, vond ze het, want: “Het ziet er geweldig uit, je waant je bij Gusto in Rome, het eten is heerlijk, maar de service kan echt veel beter.”
