Reacties van de week: Op naar de hoofdstad
Opvallend deze week waren al die reacties uit Amsterdam. Niet alleen de spotters, maar ook onze members aten er massaal, maar werden niet allemaal blij gemaakt. Harry1 bijvoorbeeld, at bij Puri Indonesia en komt daar waarschijnlijk niet meer terug: “Een foto bij de tekst had ons wel een beter beeld gegeven. De inrichting is namelijk oud, ouderwets en weinig Indonesisch. Ook de ligging van het restaurant is niet om over naar huis te schrijven. De warme welkom van de gastvrouw en het vertrouwen in een prima maaltijd hielden ons enthousiast. Gedurende de avond bleven we enthousiast over de bediening, maar het eten viel ons toch tegen. Inderdaad de gado gado was perfect, maar veel andere gerechten waren toch uitwisselbaar. En het feit dat er meerdere sate's waren, is zeker niet uniek. Nee, dan zijn er in Amsterdam wel betere en leukere plekjes. En anders adviseren we toch om even door te rijden naar Den Haag.”
Dan had hij bij Bouchon du Centre toch een fijner diner. Hij vertelt: “Leuk plekje in de stad. Waar, op zich, ook voldoende parkeerplek is. Klein restaurantje waar er duidelijk maar één is die met de scepter zwaait: en dat is de gastvrouw. Haar 'hand' is doorgevoerd in alles: menu, eten, wijnkeuze en de stijl van bedienen. En, we kunnen niet anders zeggen dat we er erg lekker gegeten hebben. Zeker de kippenleverpaté verdient een prijs. Natafelen is er niet bij, want zoals gemeld: om 20.00 uur gaat echt de stekker eruit....”
Vol potentie
Omarlittle at ook in Amsterdam, bij Wilde Zwijnen (foto): “Uiterst vriendelijke ontvangst bij ons bezoek vorige week, vriendelijke bediening maar het eten kan en mag nog wel wat beter. Goed afproeven, cuisson controleren en zorgen voor warme borden moet op dit niveau. Leuke omgeving, en ruimte om beter te worden.”
Daarnaast at hij bij het nieuwe restaurant Anna, ook in Amsterdam: “Nieuw en hot is niet altijd een aanbeveling maar Anna is een bezoek waard. Heerlijk eten, mooie wijnen en en een uiterst vriendelijke bediening. Dat maakt zelfs het interieur van Prast en Hooft verteerbaar.”
Member Rob K. keek verder dan 020, en ging eten bij Auberge Visvliet in Visvliet: "Heb vorige week gegeten in de Auberge Visvliet. Prima lokatie en superlekker eten en ook nog eens prachtig gepresenteerd. Een absolute aanrader. Ken in het Noorden geen ander restaurant dat voor een betaalbare prijs zoveel kwaliteit biedt.”
Rekenfoutje
Member Guus ging eten bij Las Palmas, wat zijn weekendje Rotterdam nou niet echt opleukte. “Wat een drama. Vreselijk slecht gegeten en behandeld. (…) Risotto smakeloos, oesters prima evenals de sashimi. Geen broodje, geen wijnkaart. Hoofdgerechten lauw en de frites zo taai als wat, kennelijk een uur onder een warm houd lamp gestaan. Bij het afrekenen stond er 120 euro te veel op de rekening. Ipv 6 oesters, hadden ze zes dozijn aangeslagen! De ober vroeg ook nog doodleuk 'en die heeft u niet gehad' Sorry kon er niet eens vanaf. Daarnaast is het een ongezellige en veel te rumoerige zaak. Akoestiek is erg slecht en doordat het (ongelooflijk) toch vol zat, konden we elkaar niet eens verstaan. Het verpeste ons leuke weekend uit!"
